Oct 30 - Murcielago
DEC News

After more than a decade as a reigning supercar terror, time has come for the legendary Lamborghini Diablo to bow down to its successor, the hellfire-packing Murcielago. The newest Lamborghini was introduced to the public at the 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show. So far the Murcielago has received rave reviews from almost all supercar enthusiasts. The car was named Murcielago after a famous arena bull that was spared in a 1879 bullfight for its courage. Like the Diablo, the two-seat vehicle has a mid-engine layout and all-wheel-drive. The newest Lamborghini has an amazing 6.2 litre all-aluminium V12 engine that provides tones of power and lots of beautiful noise. The enormous V12 has a redline of 7500rpm and provides 580 horsepower and almost as much torque. This propels the Murcielago from 0-60mph in only 3.8 seconds on the way to an incredible 205mph top speed. The body is very rigid and looks simply gorgeous. The ultra-high-performance Murcielago goes on sale spring 2002, and it goes without saying, we very much look forward to putting these fantasy-inspiring factory claims to the test. It looks as though Lamborghini has done a very good job replacing a car that many thought was irreplaceable.
