When the production version of the car was released in 1992, it was an automotive masterpiece, and the public loved the car. If someone was lucky enough to be one of the 300 people who payed $400,000 in advance, they got an XJ220 the day they came out. And I'm sure that no-one was disappointed witht the XJ220. The newest Jag, despite using a twin turbo V6 instead of a V12, could reach speeds of up to 220 miles per hour, and could accelerate from a dead stop to 60 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds, making it the fastest production car in the world at the time! Of course, the XJ220, like all Jaguars, wasn't all about power. It was also extremely beautiful, with its sleek, defined curves and it's low, long, and wide body style. If I were to have any car from Jaguar, this one would definitely be the one that I'd buy. |
